What is the difference between fluid and fixed layout?
In a fixed layout what the Publisher sees is what the readers get. However, in case of the fluid layout, the publisher has less control over what the user sees and so they may overlook certain aspects simply because the page looks fine on their specific screen resolutions.
What is a fluid layout?
In WordPress theme development terminology a fluid layout is a layout that uses proportional values as a measuring unit for blocks of content, images, or any other item that is a part of the WordPress theme. This allows the web page to stretch and contract relative to the user's screen size.
What is elastic layout?
A mixform between the fixed and the fluid layout is the elastic layout. The element-widths are expressed in em, which depends on the font size. Therefore the layout does not change when the Window size changes, but rather when the font size changes.
