What is self care difficulty?

Self-care difficulty Having difficulty bathing or dressing (DDRS). Independent living difficulty Because of a physical, mental, or emotional problem, having difficulty doing errands alone such as visiting a doctor's office or shopping (DOUT).

It replaces the decennial Census long form. The ACS collects information on an annual basis from approximately 3 million addresses in the United States, a 2.5 percent of the population living in group quarters and 36,000 addresses in Puerto Rico.

Myopathies may be passed on in families (inherited) or they may develop later in life (acquired). People living with myopathy may have difficulty performing activities of daily living like bathing, combing their hair or standing up from a chair.
