What are the disadvantages of stairs?
Disadvantages of Straight Stairs:
Straight stairs do not offer this privacy. A stair 12-feet high requires a landing to break up the span. The addition of a landing will use up a lot more space and therefore these types of stairs are seldom used in residential construction.
What is the advantage of spiral staircase?
The main benefit of a spiral staircase is optimizing space, as it needs a small footprint and occupies a very small area in all compared to other types of stairs.
What are the advantage of the scissor stairs?
The advantage of such a stair configuration is that it takes up less room per floor than would be the case if two traditional “return” stair shafts are employed. The space saving in reality equates to the area taken up by a stairway floor landing. Figure 1 below shows a vertical section taken through a scissor stair.
Do circular stairs save space?
Spiral Staircases do take up less space than conventional staircases. This is because the steps are all located within the diameter of the spiral, regardless of the height.
