How to design a CTA button?
Call to action buttons should feature striking, action-oriented text. Substitute boring words like “submit” and “enter” for more action packed words like “get,” “reserve,” and “try.” Your action words should go along with specific text relating to your offer like: Try Our Free Trial.
Should CTA buttons be all caps?
Use uppercase or capitalized letters.
The font, size, weight and letter spacing all need to form an effortless reading experience. Using uppercase letters is a common way to draw attention to the text on the CTA button while others prefer to use capitalized letters. Both are effective. Lowercase is not.
What size should a CTA button be?
Apple recommends that CTAs be at least 44 pixels by 44 pixels to be touchscreen-friendly. Microsoft recommends 34 pixels by 26 pixels, and goes further to note that there should be at least 8 pixels of space between elements. Be aware that there is a tipping point where the CTA becomes too big as well.
Should all CTA buttons be the same color?
Rule #2- Keep it Consistent
The color you pick for your CTA button needs to be the same color throughout your entire website. Equally important, the color you pick for your CTA button needs to be the same color as anything that's clickable. Hyperlinks, clickable icons, and buttons should be the same color.
