Where should I put buttons on my website?
Full page designs should have the primary button on the left side of the page. If the browser window is large, or you have to scroll down to fill out a form, it's best to have the primary button right below the last bit of content on the page.
Should buttons be on left or right?
Are the buttons on your shirt on the left side or on the right? There's actually a pretty easy answer: if you wear women's clothing, the buttons are on the left side of the shirt. However, if you wear men's shirts, the buttons line up on the right side.
Should you save the button at the top or bottom?
Considering that your users will typically navigate to one category, make a change, then click Save Changes, I think placing the button at the bottom/left is best. If your users were frequently making changes across multiple categories, then you'd have a good argument for placing the button at the top.
Where should back button be placed?
Place a persistent Back to Top button in the lower right side of the page. This is where people expect to see it. This position is out of the way, but noticeable. When the button is placed in a different place on the screen, it is often ignored.
