From Chrome, navigate to Settings > Extensions > Dialpad Extension > Details. Select Extension Options > Confirm phone number before placing call. Uncheck this box to have click-to-call automatically start calling when you click on a number.

Disabling the click to call UI

To do so, head on over to Google Chrome's experimental feature configuration through this URL: chrome://flags/#click-to-call-ui. From there, just simply disable this setting.
