What does the login button do?

The user submits the Login Credentials i.e. Username and Password. The server verifies the credentials against the DataBase. The server then generates a temporary Token and embeds the user data into it.

Usually the credentials are stored in a database. The most important thing to recognize about login credentials is that they are the keys to a person's online identity. Therefore, it is extremely important to store login credentials in a very secure way.
