What does the login button do?
It can restrict or limit this session to particular operations or a particular time and invalidate it if security problems arise. More crucially, it can do all of this and adjust it on the go. It may also track the user's every step on the page.
How does a login page work?
The user submits the Login Credentials i.e. Username and Password. The server verifies the credentials against the DataBase. The server then generates a temporary Token and embeds the user data into it.
What happens after login?
Usually the credentials are stored in a database. The most important thing to recognize about login credentials is that they are the keys to a person's online identity. Therefore, it is extremely important to store login credentials in a very secure way.
