Create a drop-down list

1. Select the cells that you want to contain the lists.
2. On the ribbon, click DATA > Data Validation.
3. In the dialog, set Allow to List.
4. Click in Source, type the text or numbers (separated by commas, for a comma-delimited list) that you want in your drop-down list, and click OK.

Click the Data tab and then click Data Validation in the Data Tools group. From the Allow drop down, choose List. In the Source control, enter (or select) $B$2:$E$2 (Figure B). Click OK.

One of my colleagues asked me if it is possible to make multiple selections in a drop-down list in Excel. When you create a drop-down list, you can only make one selection. If you select another item, the first one is replaced with the new selection.
