What is event notification?
Event-based notification definition. A notification that is generated when an event or an action has occurred on a business object. An event-based notification definition is useful when the user would like to notify other users about the status change of a business object such as Order, Contract, Person etc.

Use the Event Notification Service (ENS) to receive notifications for your own system when certain events occur in Marketing Cloud. You can be notified when customers request password resets, get order confirmations, log in using multi-factor authentication (MFA), and other events.
How do I make event notifications?
Navigate to the Event Notifications section and choose Create event notification. In the General configuration section, specify descriptive event name for your event notification. Optionally, you can also specify a prefix and a suffix to limit the notifications to objects with keys ending in the specified characters.
