What affects Fitts law?

Fitts' law states that the amount of time required for a person to move a pointer (e.g., mouse cursor) to a target area is a function of the distance to the target divided by the size of the target. Thus, the longer the distance and the smaller the target's size, the longer it takes.

How does Fitt's law improve the performance of the system?

Fitts' s law says that the time to reach Target A is shorter than the time to reach any of the other targets. Although Targets A and B have the same size, the distance from cursor to A (D1) is shorter than the distance to B (D2), so movement to A will be faster.

What is the permissible error rate limit for using the Fitts law in selecting target on a touch screen?

Adjustment for accuracy: use of the effective target width

If the error rate was greater than 4%, We > W, and if the error rate was less than 4%, We < W.

How can Fitts law help to explain the varied sizes of keys on a keyboard?

The larger the target, the easier it is to hit. This might lead a designer to think that the more oversized buttons are always better. However, that isn't still the case. Fitts' Law is a curve, which means that smaller objects are more comfortable to click if they're made larger.
