If your text messages aren't going through to a particular recipient, it could very well be that they have blocked your number.
Why do text messages fail?
Some common reasons why SMS messages may be failing to send: The destination handset is unreachable. The destination phone number does not support Text. The SMS message exceeds the 160 character limit.
How does SMS work?
When you send an SMS message, the message gets transmitted from the sending device to the nearest cell tower. That cell tower passes the message to an SMS center (SMSC). Then the SMSC forwards the SMS message to a cell tower near the receiving device. Lastly, that tower sends the message to the recipient's device.
