What is a micro animation?

Micro‑animations are small motions that tie together elements of an interface or design. They act as visual feedback for the user, making the UX process more accurate and making sure that your actions within the interface are visually represented.

Can you create animations in Figma?

Figma will smart animate any changes to an object's fill. This allows you to animate changes between solid colors, gradients and even image fills. Figma doesn't support smart animate for changes to Effects, or moving between shapes. If a property isn't supported, Figma will apply a default dissolve transition.
