On Android, long-press your app first, the head to Permissions > Location. On iPhone, turn off the toggle next to Precise Location if available. On Android, switch the setting to Approximate location.

Why can't I see someone's approximate location?

Your friend can choose to not provide precise locations. Also, if their phone does not have Wi-Fi enabled and/or has a weak GPS signal the exact location may not be identifiable.

What is the difference between specific location and approximate location?
