Visual perception is the ability to perceive our surroundings through the light that enters our eyes. The visual perception of colors, patterns, and structures has been of particular interest in relation to graphical user interfaces (GUIs) because these are perceived exclusively through vision.

Visual Perception is how the human eye perceives visual elements and structures different shapes and compositions by default. It is described by the Gestalt Principles of Design. There are more than 10 overlapping Gestalt Principals but mostly 7 of them are widely recognized, used to perceive design.
