Julius Caesar modified the Roman calendar in 46 B.C. to make each month have either 30 or 31 days, with the exception of Februarius, which had 29 days and gained an extra day every fourth year. Quintilis was later renamed Julius in his honor. Likewise, Sextilis later became Augustus to honor Augustus Caesar.
Why do dates fall on different days?
Because 365 is not a multiple of seven, 7-day weeks don't fit evenly into the Gregorian calendar. That means that each year, dates shift over one day of the week (two during leap years).
How do I create a calendar from a list of dates in Excel?
Create a calendar view and set it as the default view
Select Create new view. Under View name, enter a name. Under Show as, select Calendar as the type of view you want to create. Under Start date and End date, select which date-based column or columns should apply.
