What is animation in interactive design?
UI animation is the process of adding motion to UI elements in order to enhance a product's interactivity. UX and UI designers use animation to guide them around the interface, alert users of a change, influence users' decisions, and indicate a relationship between elements—among other uses.
How long should UI animations be?
It's been found that the optimal duration for a UI animation should be between 200 and 500ms. Click and hover animations should be on the lower spectrum of the above-mentioned duration, whereas animation spanning over a large portion of the screen or whole screen transitions will be on the higher one.
