Parameters are extremely simple – they allow users to select or input a value. That value can then in turn be used in calculations, and subsequently, filters.

Parameter filters are used to limit or restrict the input values or data that can be specified for a model tool parameter. For example, a Value List filter can be used so that only values from a list can be specified for the parameter.

Can we use parameters in filters in Tableau?

A list of parameters is available in the drop-down lists on the Top tab of the Filter dialog box. Select the parameter you want to use in the filter. To show the parameter control, right-click the parameter in the Data pane and select Show Parameter.
