What throat lozenges are good for?
This product is used to temporarily help relieve symptoms such as sore throat, throat irritation, or cough (due to a cold, for example). It works by providing a cooling feeling and increasing saliva in the mouth.
What are throat lozenges?
There are three compounds commonly used in throat lozenges: amylmetacresol, dichlorobenzyl alcohol, and hexylresorcinol. In many cases, amylmetacresol and dichlorobenzyl alcohol are actually used in combination, whilst hexylresorcinol seems to be more commonly used in isolation.
Do lozenges heal your throat?
Will a lozenge cure my sore throat? It's important to note that throat lozenges won't actually cure your throat of infection. Instead, they help relieve symptoms and ease pain. A sore throat usually goes away on its own after three or four days.
