What is file upload abuse?
- File upload abuse is when an attacker abuses public file upload features of a website. It's common for web applications to allow users to upload files. These are a few common examples when a web application might encourage users to send in images, video or other files.
What happens when a file is uploaded?
Uploading is the transmission of a file from one computer system to another, usually larger computer system. From a network user's point-of-view, to upload a file is to send it to another computer that is set up to receive it.
What is file upload Bypass?
File upload mechanisms are very common on websites, but sometimes have poor validation. This allows attackers to upload malicious files to the web server, which can then be executed by other users or the server itself.
