Accordingly, text and headings should not be centered, flush right, or justified. As a left-to-right language, scanning English centered and flush right text is more difficult because location of the beginning of the lines changes.

It might look more balanced on screen, but a centre-aligned text is much harder to read than a left-aligned one. This is because there is no uniformity along the left-hand margin. With every line starting at a different point on the screen, centre alignment is an eyesore for website visitors – literally!
Why is left align text better?
Left-aligned text also performs best for readers because it helps the eye find the start of the next line when it leaves the end of the last one. Right-aligned or centred text changes the starting place of each line forcing readers to work harder to find where each line begins to continue reading.
