How many times should you test a prototype?
Test 2 to 3 prototypes – Don't put too much time and effort into what's “only” the prototype of that solution. It's more useful to have 2-3 rough prototypes to test than have 1 pixel-perfect prototype.
When should I test my prototype?
Product prototype testing is for when you're in the process of developing a new product (MVP). This could be something completely new, or it could be an additional product you're planning to offer. Product redesign testing is for gathering insights for a major redesign.
How is it best to test a prototype during the Design Thinking process?
You should conduct tests throughout the design thinking process. Tests go hand in hand with prototypes, since you will most often test your prototypes with users. Given that, you should constantly create prototypes—start with low-fidelity ones and move to higher-fidelity ones as you progress—and test them with users.
