What is the difference between select and dropdown?
Select versus Dropdown
It works best in forms when users choose an option from the select list and submit data. A dropdown presents a list of options that users can select one or several options from that list. Dropdown options are used for taking an action, filtering, or sorting existing content.
How many types of dropdowns are there?
I also want to clarify that there are two main types of dropdowns: those used for navigation and those used in forms.
What can I use instead of dropdown?
Testing generally reveals that open text fields or radio buttons are the preferred implementation instead of dropdowns with either too few or too many options. That is not to say, however, that dropdowns should never be used in such contexts, especially when there are too many choices for users.
What is a slider UX?
Slider is a control that allows users to select a specific value (or range of values). All too often users get the information of what the value is all about by reading the label on a slider. At the same time, it's possible to create a much better user experience by visualizing the data connected to the slider.
