What are the limitations of SUS?

Limitation 2: A SUS Score is not a diagnostic test

The SUS score cannot tell you specifically which parts of your website or product cause users issues. To get that data, you need to observe users interacting with a website or product. For this reason, the score is most useful when coupled with UX study results.

What does the SUS score indicate?

Interpreting System Usability Scale (SUS) Score

SUS score will be able to tell you your usability performance in the aspects of effectiveness, efficiency, and overall ease of use. Although each responses yield a score on a scale of 0 – 100, do not mistake it as a percentage or percentile.

Why is SUS a popular evaluation survey?

The System Usability Scale is an example of a test level satisfaction questionnaire. The advantages of SUS is that it is comparatively quick, easy and inexpensive, whilst still being a reliable way of gauging usability.

How many participants are in the System Usability Scale?

Technically you need at least two users to have some measure of variability (the standard deviation) and to generate confidence intervals. We have never done a test using the SUS with only two users. We will, however, report the SUS score with just five users.
