How many words should be in a button?

Ideally you'll want to keep that button text to two or five words.

When to use text button?

Use text buttons on toolbars, in dialogs, or inline with other content but offset from that content with padding so that the button's presence is obvious. Text buttons do not have visible borders and must therefore rely on their position relative to other content for context.

What is tonal button?

Copy linkLink copied. A filled tonal button is an alternative middle ground between filled and outlined buttons. They're useful in contexts where a lower-priority button requires slightly more emphasis than an outline would give, such as "Next" in an onboarding flow. Tonal buttons use the secondary color mapping.
