What is unmoderated usability testing?

Unmoderated usability testing is just like it sounds. It's not monitored or guided, so there's no one else present during the study except the contributor. The contributor completes tasks and answers questions at their own pace, on their own time, at a time and location of their choosing.

How many participants are needed for unmoderated usability testing?

Since we're using unmoderated for evaluation studies, the sample size should be between 5-8 participants per study.

How long should an unmoderated test be?

Unmoderated tests should take about 15-20 minutes to complete. Depending on your subscription plan, you can run 30-40 minute unmoderated tests by allowing contributors to opt-in with a screener question.
