The easy way
So, all you need to do is generate a unique ID for each alert you send, then, if you want to replace it, send another notification using that same ID, which will take its place.

Go to Settings → scroll down to the app. Tap Notifications. Ensure that Allow Notifications toggle is turned on. Then select Immediate Delivery or Scheduled Summary accordingly.
Can I see my notification history?
To access notifications, go to Settings and tap Notifications. Then, tap the On/Off slider to enable Notification History until it is in the On position. Step 2: Now you can see your notification history. Step 3: The History function shows all your notifications in the last 24 hours.
