Uppercase letters are used in the beginning of names and other proper nouns, at the beginning of sentences, at the beginning of words in titles, and in some abbreviations. In casual use, a word might be written in uppercase letters for emphasis.
What is uppercase in typography?
Uppercase (or capital) letters—the larger of the two— are used for the beginning of sentences, proper nouns, and abbreviations. They can also be used for purely aesthetic purposes, such as in display signage. Lowercase letters are used for every other scenario.
Should you use all caps for headings?
Headings should be properly formatted and use sentence case. In titles, headings and subheadings, use sentence case. That means you capitalise the first letter and any words that would use capitals in a normal sentence. Avoid using all capital letters.
Why not use all caps UX?
There are many other ways to emphasize your point when you are putting textual information for your user. All caps text is difficult to read and human mind takes time to absorb it. To provide a good user experience, it is recommended to avoid all caps text.
