What is user experience research?
UX (user experience) research is the study of learning what end users of a system or product need and want, then employing those insights to enhance the design process for products, services or software. UX research can take different forms depending on the area of focus.

Get a degree in technology or behavioral science.
Most UX researcher positions require candidates with at least a bachelor's degree, though it doesn't necessarily have to be in a UX-related field. Earning your degree in a field related to technology or behavioral and social science could be beneficial.
What type of research is UX?
UX research includes two main types: quantitative (statistical data) and qualitative (insights that can be observed but not computed), done through observation techniques, task analysis, and other feedback methodologies.
