Should email verification link expire?
There are several reasons why quick expiration of verification codes is the best practice. If protection with a verification code is deemed appropriate, it's safest to make it not only complex enough but also valid for minimum amount of time.
Why do verification emails expire?
I cannot verify my email address; I get the error “Email verification link is expired” This error usually occurs when the Verify link is from an older verification email when a newer verification email has been requested, or multiple verification emails have been requested in a short period of time.
Why do activation links expire?
For security reasons the activation link will expire after 48 hours. If this occurs, you can re-register, and then activate your account using the activation link in the new email.
