What is an alpha prototype?
An Alpha Prototype is sometimes called a proof-of-concept model. It is designed to test, early in the design process, the fundamental technologies upon which the product is based.
Is alpha the same as prototype?
Alpha is an experimental stage. It's an opportunity to use prototypes to work out the right thing to build. In Alpha stage you test the hypotheses that you reached at the end of Discovery stage. As you progress through Alpha, you will produce new hypotheses as you discover new things about the users and service.
What is an alpha version of software?
alpha version (plural alpha versions) (computing, technology) An early version of a program or application, typically unstable, but useful to show what the product will do. Sometimes this stage is referred to as a preview version. Sometimes no more features are added after this release, but bug fixes continue.
How is alpha beta and pre production prototype different from each other?
Both prototypes and alphas are used to test products before they are released to the general public. Betas are usually released to a small group of users for testing. Beta prototypes are typically augmentations of alpha prototypes; therefore, there are no significant differences in development processes.
