What do you call the buttons where users interact?
At their most basic, UX buttons are styled links that grab the user's attention and help drive them in a particular direction. Buttons can link us to other pages or complete an action like submitting a form or making a purchase. They are often used as calls to actions (CTA) we want our users to complete on our website.
Where should buttons be on a form?
Full page designs should have the primary button on the left side of the page. If the browser window is large, or you have to scroll down to fill out a form, it's best to have the primary button right below the last bit of content on the page.
Where do I put the Save button?
Right: 'save and exit' button next to the primary button (good). Sometimes users might need to save their progress on a long form. Putting the 'save and exit' button above the primary button implies it's more important, when it isn't.
What is a split button?
A split button is a hybrid between a button and a menu: it groups related commands together into a dropdown, but also offers one-click access to a default choice that doesn't require opening the menu.
