Do you need to cite public domain images?
For academic purposes sources for images must be cited even if free or in the public domain. The basic information you will need: Artist's name.
What is the best way to label photos?
If you can, use a soft lead pencil to write information—including who's in a photo, the date it was taken, the occasion, and where it was taken—on the back of a photograph (where the information will never become separated from the image). Soft lead is important because hard lead pencils will leave an indentation.
Can I use a copyrighted image if I reference it?
You should ask permission from the copyright owner before using images in this way.
