Are QR codes better than links?
QR codes are machine readable and should, in theory, improve data quality. They allow you to track the sources or media that a has customer responded through better than a customised URL (e.g. www.example.com/april-promo). In our experience customised URLs are often abbreviated to just the domain name.
Can QR codes be interactive?
QR code technology has smart solutions to make an interactive wall engaging and make any information come to life using videos, sounds, images, and more embedded in the code. This two-dimensional barcode can store large information such as a video file, audio, image, PDF document, or a URL/website link.
Is a QR code just a link?
The QR code just contains the address of a website. By scanning the code, the website can be access by the user without the hassle of manually entering the address (URL). This works because the QR reader recognizes the http(s):// protocol prefix and then interprets the text as a website address / URL.
Why are QR codes different for the same URL?
Every QR Code Generator uses different algorithms and also different encodings (Numeric, Alphanumeric, Byte Mode, Kanji Mode, ECI Mode) when creating a QR Code. Therefore, it is possible that different looking QR Codes can have the same URL or text information encoded.
