Simulating the data source allows you to implement case processing before the external system is available. External data source simulation is also useful to unit test since you can dictate the returned response.

Which studio is used to get an overview of simulated data pages in application?
Use Dev Studio to get an overview of simulated data pages in your application. In Dev Studio, click Configure > Data Model > View external data entities to open the landing page and get an overview of simulated data pages in your application. Source systems marked with a green dot are production-ready.
How do you link to registered data sources?
\Click the New button (below the list of registered databases) to open the Create Database Link dialog. Enter the location of the database file, or click Browse to open a file browser and select the database file. Type a name to use as the registered name for the database and click OK.
