Typically, when in receipt of that message, it means that a message you sent to that party has failed to be delivered and has therefore been deleted from our servers as we will only attempt the delivery for 5 days. Have you confirmed that the number being texted is still active?

nope, they will not get notified. what usually happens is you send the message and the person gets a notification that you sent something. then the message gets deleted by you and when the person checks the message it won't be there and will see the last messages that were sent and not deleted.
