Social logins might contain false information

Social media websites don't always require their customers to sign up with their real names, meaning that when they do, any information associated with their social login could be false.

Why is social login important?

Social login allows users to authenticate in a website or app without needing to create another password for this new account, or having to remember this password next time they return. The process relies on the credentials from a social networking service such as Facebook, Google, Twitter or an Apple account.

How many people use social logins?

We pulled Auth0 data from March 2022. While username and password login is still the most common login choice, accounting for 62% of monthly user logins and 60% of monthly active users. Social login was used in 14% of logins. Across the board, 25% of monthly active users used social login at least once.
