Why is there no Delete key on Android keyboard?
Probably the main reason is space limitation. There's only so much space to put keys, so the decision was probably made a while ago to put the more commonly used Backspace key, rather than the Delete key.

The ALT + BACKSPACE keyboard shortcut replaces the DELETE key and now that I know about it, I use it quite often. ALT + BACKSPACE, as I mentioned, is DELETE—that is, delete the NEXT letter after the cursor. CTRL + BACKSPACE will delete the previous word.

Hello. The Delete key is, in fact, the same as the Backspace key on Windows computers. The smaller one (by the fn key) is the same as the DEL on a Windows keyboard... it deletes what is in front of it.
