How do you align a number in table column?
First, make sure the text is left-aligned in the Paragraph Options. Now select the table cells or columns that hold the numbers. Then, even though you haven't typed any tabs, choose Type > Tabs to open up the tab options. Finally, choose the “align on decimal”-tab and click on the ruler to set the position.
When aligning numerical values in tables what should be considered?
Consistent Significant Figures = Better alignment
One easy way to keep your tables properly aligned is to keep the same number of significant figures — usually the number of digits after the decimal — consistent within each column.
Should numbers in a table be left aligned?
Typography. Generally, you should align text left and numbers right. This way it's easier to differentiate between the two and numbers are easier to compare. In addition to that, you should align the table headers according to their column data as that makes your table more structural.
Which alignment can be used in columns?
Adjust vertical and horizontal alignment within Sections and Columns to achieve a “stretch-to-fill” layout. This allows elements of columns with different heights to align with one another.
