What is click to session ratio?

Although clicks and website sessions seem to represent the same action, and therefore result in a 1:1 ratio, they are completely separate metrics that are recorded in different ways.

Do clicks equal sessions?

There is an important distinction between clicks (such as in your Google Ads reports) and sessions (such as in your Audience reports). The Clicks column in your reports indicates how many times your advertisements were clicked by users, while Sessions indicates the number of unique sessions initiated by your users.

Why would sessions be higher than clicks?

Why do I have more sessions than clicks? This is normal behavior and indicates positive engagement with your website. When a user clicks one of your Google Ads ads and auto-tagging is turned on, we assign a unique click id (gclid value) to that user.

What is a good CTR for Google Ads?

If your CTR for Google search ads is around 2% or higher, you can give yourself a pat on the back. That's generally considered a good CTR. However, depending on your industry, it might still be considered low. Some industries have higher average CTRs than others.
