What happens when you double-click on an item?
Double-clicking allows two different actions to be associated with the same mouse button. It was developed by Bill Atkinson of Apple Computer (now Apple Inc.) for their Lisa project. Often, single-clicking selects (or highlights) an object, while a double-click executes the function associated with that object.
Why does my mouse double-click when I single click?
The most common culprit of the double-clicking issue is the double-click speed setting for your mouse is set too low. When set very low, clicking at two different times may be interpreted as a double-click instead.
