What is segmented control in iOS?
A segmented control is a linear set of two or more segments, each of which functions as a button. Within a segmented control, all segments are usually equal in width. Like buttons, segments can contain text or images. Segments can also have text labels beneath them (or beneath the control as a whole).
What is segmented control used for?
Segmented controls allow users to make a single selection from a set of 2–5 options, as a common alternative to radio buttons and dropdown menus. They clearly present all available options to users and are easy to use on mobile devices. Use them over other selection controls to reduce cognitive load.
What are segmented buttons?
Segmented buttons were previously known as toggle buttons. Single-select segmented buttons are used to select a single option, switch between views or sort elements. Multi-select segmented buttons are used to select multiple options from a group of options or filter elements.
