Which format is used to display the date and day?
Overview of date and time formats
The dates appear as, mm/dd/yyyy in the U.S. and as, dd/mm/yyyy outside the U.S. where mm is the month, dd is the day, and yyyy is the year. The time is displayed as, hh:mm:ss AM/PM, where hh is the hour, mm is minutes, and ss is seconds.
What is the easiest date format to read?
The dd mmm yyyy format (e.g. 1 Jan 2014) is usually my approach on projects as it prevents possible confusion caused by displaying multiple units of time in 2 digits. In my opinion, 2 February 2002 or 2 Feb 2002 is far more readable than 02/02/02 or even 02/02/2002. Save this answer.
