What does long press mean?
Most people refer to "long press" as "touch and hold", but no matter which way you say it, it's an awesome feature for Android cell phones. Long pressing lets you get more information, download photos from the web, edit pictures and more!
What is long touch?
This setting adjusts the amount of time before your tap on the screen becomes a touch & hold. A longer touch & hold delay means that you need to keep your finger in the same place for longer before your tap becomes a touch & hold.
How long is a long press?
When you change this value through the "touch and hold delay" dialog in Accessibility settings, it can hold a value of 500, 1,000, and 1,500 milliseconds which corresponds with short, medium, and long respectively.
What is the use of long tap?
Employed on touchscreens, smartphones, tablets and smartwatches, the long press or long tap increases the flexibility of the user interface. The normal "short press" or "short tap" (releasing right away) performs one operation, while pressing/tapping and holding that same button for a short time activates another.
