How long do SMS verification codes last?

The most common time frames are between 5 and 10 minutes. Depending on what your code is for, you can change the expiration times. For example, verification codes tend to be active longer (Google uses 30 days) than a login code.

Does 2-step verification expire?

Email 2-Step Verification codes expire after 15 minutes and will no longer work if the code was already entered incorrectly for that account. Use the Resend Code or Start Over feature on the 2-Step Verification login screen to request a new code.
