How are users involved in user-centred design?
User-centered design (UCD) is an iterative design process in which designers focus on the users and their needs in each phase of the design process. In UCD, design teams involve users throughout the design process via a variety of research and design techniques, to create highly usable and accessible products for them.
What do you think is the importance of involving users in user-centered design?
The user-centred design process typically focuses on using simple sketches, mockups or wireframes on parts or all of the designs. This makes for a much faster and cost-effective design process, rather than building the end product and they having to make expensive changes if it isn't meeting user needs.
What is usability in UCD?
Usability. The goal of UCD is to produce products that have a high degree of usability. ISO 9241-11 (1998) defines usability as the "extent to which a product can be used by specified users to achieve specified goals with effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction in a specified context of use."
