One of the more common metrics used in user experience is task success or completion. This is a very simple binary metric. When we run a study with multiple users, we usually report the success (or task-completion) rate: the percentage of users who were able to complete a task in a study.

How do you calculate task completion rate?

You report completion rates on a task by dividing the number of users who successfully complete the task by the total number who attempted it. For example, if eight out of ten users complete a task successfully, the completion rate is 0.8 and usually reported as 80%.
